The Nutritionists Association of Namibia (NAN) is a professional association for nutritionists in Namibia, founded on 24 July 2022 by the first Namibian-trained nutritionists. The Association was established with the aim of advancing the nutrition profession in Namibia while protecting and promoting the nutritional health, wellbeing, and welfare of the Namibian people. NAN serves as a national platform that brings together nutrition professionals to foster collaboration, professional growth, advocacy, and leadership within the field of nutrition.
NAN strives to become the leading national professional body that meets the diverse professional needs of nutritionists in Namibia. The Association is committed to strengthening the visibility and contribution of nutritionists towards improving public health, food systems, and nutrition outcomes across the country. The Association is guided by three core values: commitment, partnership, and innovation. Under the value of commitment, NAN is dedicated to delivering on its promises to members, partners, stakeholders, and the people of Namibia through professionalism, accountability, and excellence. Through partnership, the Association actively collaborates with institutions, development partners, communities, and other stakeholders to strengthen nutrition initiatives and improve health outcomes.
