WANDA is a Black women-led nonprofit organisation founded in 2016 and based in Washington, D.C. It works to transform food systems across the African Diaspora by empowering women leaders, advocates and entrepreneurs.
Through education, advocacy and innovation, WANDA promotes healthier food cultures, addresses health challenges associated with colonised food systems, and strengthens representation in agriculture and nutrition.
Its mission is to develop a new generation of women food leaders, or “Food Sheroes,” who drive positive change from farm to health, empowering families, communities and economies through food justice and cultural identity.
